Programme of the 3-day expedition:
Our expedition will start in Kutaisi, where we will do our last shopping at the bazaar. After these, we will escape from civilisation for three days, heading to an altitude of 2,300 metres, 75 km from the city. Where there are no shops and no range, relaxation for body and spirit awaits us.
Our route will take us through picturesque wine regions where endemic grape varieties such as Tsolikouri, Tsitska and Otskhanuri Sapere are grown. Further on, along a winding but still asphalted road, we will reach the 4-star resort of Sairme, located at an altitude of 1,000 metres. We will stop for a short break at a café, and those wishing to do so can sample the local mineral waters.
Later in the trip, the tarmac will end and the gravel road will start! We will be going up higher and higher! The landscape will change very quickly. The flora will change from dense forests to alpine type glades! The locals call this area Imeretian Tushetia (a region of Georgia in the High Caucasus). In June, July, rhododendrons bloom in the glades! Pink, yellow, white, the mountains are then full of colour.
We will stop at the Red Glades to admire the mountain scenery. When we reach our base camp at #ZekariWindow We will pitch our tents. Our destination that day will be Mount Didmaghali 2580 metres, on which Saint Andrew himself posted the cross. We will climb the so-called Didmaghali terraces to an altitude of about 2450 metres!
Such sunsets are waiting for you!

Those willing will be able to help us with dinner preparations. We will sit by the fire and tell you stories, many interesting facts and legends about Georgia, our mountains! Phenomenal sunsets await you on Zekari!
We will start the second day with a breakfast prepared together. Then we will set off on a trek! We will take you along a scenic trail to the border of 2 regions Imereti and Javakheti. On one side we will be able to see views of the High Caucasus. With a clear sky we will spot the summit of Tetnuldi, Ushba, Shkhara, and on the other side from the Javakheti region the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus and the characteristic plains.

A visit to the village of Ivlita with our friends, wonderful families
The main destination of the trek will be the village of Ivlita, where we will host you together with our friends. Families who live here in the summer season, graze their herds of cattle and make delicious cheeses! A tasting of their local products, Imeretin cheese, Sulguni, cream, curd or teas made from mountain herbs awaits you!
In the evening we will return to our base where we will have dinner. With a cloudless sky we will be able to admire countless stars!
On the third and final day of the expedition, after breakfast we will set off on a trek towards the pastoral settlement of Zegani. Our route takes us through alpine glades, offering 360-degree panoramic views. On the trail we have the chance to meet herds of wild horses, and the sight of them galloping is an unforgettable experience.
After returning to #ZekariWindow we will have a farewell mountain picnic. We will then pack up camp and set off on our return journey to Kutaisi.
