Georgia 1 - day tour on horseback from Kutaisi
Come and enjoy horse riding trails in the mountains at the junction of the three regions of Imereti, Lechkhumi and Megrelia! Just 1.5 hours’ drive from the centre of Kutaisi! It’s an adventure in the saddle for every rider! We’ve prepared two wonderful trails towards the Askhi Massif and through Georgian Alaska! Stunning mountain landscapes and alpine meadows await you.
You’ll be riding our brave horses of the Georgian Megrelian breed. They know these trails like the back of their hands. They live in a herd in the wild on these alpine meadows every day.

GEORGIAN ALASKA
Our destination is an area known as „Georgian Alaska” due to its dense forests and breathtaking views of the rocky landscape. This is also the first, 30-kilometre section of the trail to Lake Lebarde, which we will cover during the Special Edition.
The route follows a forest path, mainly used by loggers and local shepherds. The trail is quite varied, leading both downhill and uphill, gradually climbing towards the waterfall. We’ll stop for a break in the countryside, have a rest, and then set off on our return journey.
Time in the saddle: around 4 hours
THE ASKHI MASSIF, the former seabed
Our main aim will be to reach the pass before the Askhi Massif, at an altitude of 2,050 metres.
We have around 1,050 metres of ascent ahead of us, leading through beautiful forests, beyond which we’ll emerge into the open space of mountain meadows. We’ll ride at a walk. A short while later, we’ll reach a more rocky and stony section, which will lead us to the pass. There, next to our hut, we’ll stop for a break in the fresh air. We’ll have a little time to rest.
We will then set off on the return journey. On the first, stony section, we will lead our horses. Along the way, it’s worth taking a closer look at the rocks and stones. You can see distinct layers on them — over 100 million years ago, the sea raged here. We’ll ride down onto flat ground, where we’ll be able to ride at a brisker pace.

PROGRAMME:
- Departure from the centre of Kutaisi at 9.30. The transfer to the starting point of the horse-riding tour takes about 1½ hours.
- A welcome drink of coffee or tea, and the allocation of horses
- A horse ride, lasting around 4–6 hours depending on the route. A break halfway through the ride.
- Return to base, saying goodbye to the horses
- Leisure time at Green Lake. There is a restaurant on site where you can order a meal.
- Return transfer to Kutaisi at around 8.00 pm
- We returned to Kutaisi at around 9.30 pm.

- Our trail is ideally suited and safe for horses and riders.
- We adapt the pace of the ride to the riders' abilities
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited during horse riding.
- This trip is for anyone who isn’t afraid to get on a horse and knows at least the basics of horse riding.
- We also cater for large groups, subject to prior booking.
