A 150-kilometre horseback expedition: Where the Wild West meets Georgian history!
We’ve got something special in store for you: a horseback trail ride that’s every rider’s dream come true!
For years, we have been creating unique tourism projects and original trails, where the beauty of the landscape naturally intertwines with the history, cultural heritage, ethnography and folklore of our country, as well as fascinating adventure. This time, from the saddle! Our equestrian centre is located just an hour’s drive from Tbilisi, in the beautiful village of Lemshveniera, situated right next to Lake Jandari, half of which lies in Georgia and half in Azerbaijan! This is where we keep our magnificent horses during the season, from October to the end of May. In summer, we base ourselves in the Svaneti region of the Greater Caucasus, in the village of Ushguli, where we also organise unique horse-riding expeditions!

A 150-kilometre horseback expedition: The Georgian Desert and the Salt Hills
A 150-kilometre horseback expedition: A drive through the steppes and flocks of sheep
We spend the winter on the Georgian steppes, where the horses have access to the best fodder and grass. The temperatures here are pleasant and there is no snow, unlike in Ushguli. As a result, the horses are in excellent physical condition and at their peak all year round!
HORSES
Get our brave caucasian horses! They are very hardy on the trail, accustomed to open areas and mountain trails. After all, this is their pasture every day.
SADDLES
Georgian-style, with a large, comfortable cushion on the seat. They’re perfect for long journeys.
This ride is designed for those who can ride a horse and move comfortably at a walk, trot and canter.
I invite you to a genuine, unique EXPEDITIONS, which offers everything a true rider could dream of: breathtaking wilderness, rugged steppes and vast, open spaces – simply perfect for long GALOPÓW.
You’re in for an amazing experience here: on the one hand, you feel as though you’re somewhere in America, set in the heart of a classic Wild West film, and on the other hand – amidst landscapes straight out of Ethiopia, and from the third, it’s as if you’ve found yourself in Peru in the midst of the rainbow-coloured hills. It all takes place right in the heart of Georgia! The steppes here are perfect for off-road driving.
Every rider must experience an adventure like this at least once in their life!

A 150-kilometre horseback expedition: A stop at the 6th-century rock-cut monastery of St John the Baptist
A 150-kilometre horseback expedition: Galloping across the Georgian steppes
Our trail winds through desert hills shimmering with colour, steppes, riverbeds and forests teeming with life. Our expeditions are not just about the views; they are interwoven with a fascinating story. A tunnel carved into the rock The 6th-century Monastery of St John the Baptist, from there we will continue on towards the unique monastery complex David Gareja Monastery, and then – following the border with Azerbaijan itself – we’ll head all the way to the very end, to Iori Nature Reserve. Along the route, we will come across abandoned monasteries carved into the rock Sabereebi. It is a place where time has stood still, and where history and ethnography are almost tangible. In days gone by, 100,000 monks lived here, but they were ruthlessly massacred, and this mystical place was left deserted. Unique ancient frescoes from the 6th century have survived to this day in the rock caves.
It is right at the foot of one of the rock-cut monasteries, overlooking these monumental spaces, that we set up our camp in the all inclusive in the Georgian steppes, far from civilisation. We provide comfortable tents, a field kitchen, portable showers and professional camp management. We spend two nights in tents, which lends the whole trip a mystical and unforgettable atmosphere.
We spend our evenings by the campfire, sharing a meal together, gazing up at the countless stars. Our team prepares Georgian delicacies for you, including succulent kebabs (also available in a vegetarian version), traditional Georgian salad, the famous aubergines and many other delicacies. Being in Georgia, the home of wine with an 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition, we simply must have the finest biodynamic wines and cognac to make every evening a delight!
We’ll start the day with a delicious breakfast prepared for you by our team and a cup of coffee enjoyed in the great outdoors in the company of our horses.
This expedition is a dream come true: a trek filled with joyful gallops, trails where you hardly ever have to dismount, wild adventure and an escape from the daily grind.

NOT JUST A DESERT!
Our tours begin in Tbilisi, where you’ll explore the 5th-century capital of Georgia with us! You’ll discover its history, unique monuments and legendary sites. We’ll spend some quality time getting to know each other as a group. We’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at an iconic restaurant. We’ll also finish the trip in Tbilisi. We’ll celebrate the end of the trip with a glass of Georgian wine at a farewell feast!
We guarantee top-quality organisation and an authentic Georgian experience on horseback with 100%. With our many years of experience, we are the best at organising this type of expedition throughout Georgia!
On horseback and in a 4×4 – One trip, two adventures!
This unique trip is the perfect choice for horse riding enthusiasts and their loved ones, allowing them to share the adventure together without having to make any compromises. Whilst the riding group spends hours in the saddle enjoying complete freedom, accompanying guests set off on an exhilarating journey in 4×4 off-road vehicles. The trip is accompanied by a rich culinary programme, tastings of natural wines and the exploration of 6th-century monasteries carved into the rock.
Despite carrying out other activities throughout the day, the whole team stays together at all times – we eat traditional Georgian meals together and share the same accommodation, whether in a comfortable hotel or a charming tented camp on the steppes. Although the 4×4 route does not entirely follow the horse-riding trail, our paths regularly cross, providing the perfect opportunity to meet up and take photos against the backdrop of the spectacular Caucasian horizon.
