Enjoy a day trip to the mountains on the border of two regions, Imereti and Samcche-Djavacheti. To our little chalet in the mountains #ZekariWindowover which the mountain reigns Didmaghali peak (2 580 m above sea level). This place is formed by the characteristic Kvasakdara rocks and vast supalpine meadows full of herbs. If we are lucky, we can meet a herd of free-living horses here.
The route from Kutaisi takes about 2 - 3 hours. On the way we will stop at the café of the four-star Sairme Resort, famous for its therapeutic mineral waters and thermal pools.
Check In Zekari
In the village of Ivlita
At the Shepherds living on Zekari you will taste unique Imeretin cheese. Every year during the summer season, shepherds graze their herds of cows here. This is a long-standing tradition handed down from generation to generation. The unique climate, altitude, air quality and pastures contribute to the incredible taste of these cheeses.
We will go off-road towards the highest village in the Imereti region -. Ivlita. There is one of the oldest roads in Georgia leading to it, which was part of the Silk Road. The Roman legion of Pompey, Ottomans, Persians and Mongols passed through this area.
Our next destination will be our piece of land where we have a hut #ZekariWindow. There will be a picnic here. We will prepare delicious regional dishes for you.
You will take a break from the internet and the telephone. You can use your free time for walks in the countryside or simply relaxing in undisturbed nature.
This is the perfect program for those who have one day and want to explore Zekari, also called Imeretian Tusheti. We guarantee that you will fall in love with this wonderful place and you will want to come back here for a longer time.
